But what determines how many kilometers you can drive in an electric car? It depends on the range and its designation. There are three standards that apply: the EPA, the WLTP, and the NEDC. The EPA corresponds to the American standard, and in this value, you can be the most confident.
The WLTP is the European standard, which is only realistic under ideal conditions (good weather, more comfortable urban pace). So, for example, if you were to go somewhere in winter, and your electric car's range is marked as WLTP 250 km, you need to multiply this value by 0.6 to get the real value. The NEDC, on the other hand, is the oldest standard, whose values are completely unrealistic.

Know in advance where you would like to go and which (free or paid) charging stations you would like to visit, and how much time you would spend there!
Things to take with you
For AC chargers, the appropriate cables (Type1 or Type2), and for emergencies, portable "grandma chargers" that plug into an outlet. Even if there will be charging options at your accommodation: they might just mean one outlet.
Pay attention to the changes in charge!
For safe travel, it is important that this stays between 20-80%; for the battery's lifespan, try not to charge to 100%. It's also useful to take advantage of route planning apps for this.
About the density of charging stations
This varies by country, so check before you leave! For example, in the Netherlands and Norway, the maximum distance between two stations is 120 km, but the situation is less favorable in the south.
