The grant started in 2016 and has been renewed every year since, which is why it has been mentioned in our blog in previous articles.
Overall, it provides support for companies that want to make their operations more economical, efficient, and, last but not least, more sustainable by developing their vehicle fleet. Therefore, economic organizations and sole proprietors can also apply for the funding. However, it is important to know that companies engaged in road freight transport, vehicle sales, and vehicle rentals, as well as fleet managers, cannot apply.
What kind of electric vehicle can we apply for?
Regarding the subsidy, the two most important criteria for the car are as follows: we can only purchase a new vehicle, which must be purely electric. Therefore, hybrids and plug-in hybrids cannot be applied for.
In addition, it is worth knowing that during the 2024 electric car application process, the support changes gradually, depending on the battery capacity of the electric vehicle. For cars with a battery capacity below 41 kWh, a maximum of 2.8 million forints can be claimed, for vehicles between 41 and 59 kWh, 3.6 million forints, while for those above 59 kWh, a maximum of 4 million forints can be claimed.
However, it may be good news for many that the procurement of the given vehicle can be financed not only through normal purchase but also through closed or open-ended financial leasing. The payment of the subsidy occurs after the purchase of the car, following the submission of the appropriate documents.
