The future of electric cars: what awaits us on the roads?

Mar 11, 2025

The future of electric cars is increasingly engaging more people, as these vehicles prioritize environmental consciousness and fundamentally transform transportation. In recent years, we have witnessed a dramatic development in both range and charging options. The advantages of electric cars include their lack of carbon dioxide emissions during use, which, as we know, leads to improved air quality. Additionally, charging with renewable energy sources supports sustainability goals. But what does the future of electric cars look like, and what challenges still await us in this area?

Rapid Development: The Future of Electric Cars is Almost Here

In recent years, we have been unable to keep up with the rapid developments in the field of electric cars, but the advancements do not stop. In our blog, we also deal with the issue of batteries. The energy density of batteries increases year by year, resulting in longer ranges and faster charging times.

According to market forecasts, electric cars may act as a kind of “energy storage” in the future, helping with the energy supply of our homes and the distribution of network load.

Expanding Charging Opportunities

One of the most important prerequisites for the widespread adoption of electric cars is the establishment of the appropriate charging infrastructure. Voltie continuously develops its solutions based on partners and market feedback. Their plans include, among other things, the establishment of a human-centered e-mobility market.

To ensure that more electric cars roam the cities, it is essential to have more charging stations available, especially in locations such as office buildings. A study revealed that 67% of respondents would prefer to charge their car at their workplace.

However, a system needs to be established that allows for traceable billing. It is advisable to choose a charging station that specializes in this area. Over the past few years, Voltie has successfully led several large-scale projects where we can be assured that up to 200 chargers can operate simultaneously.

The corporate sector is getting involved

In corporate life, sustainability and organizational development efforts are no longer just about “appearing in a good light,” but have become a mandatory step. Corporate electric mobility is becoming increasingly attractive to companies. However, all these plans can only be realized with sufficient charging stations.

While fleets consisting of more than 50 vehicles, typically large corporations, have not yet reached full electrification, small and medium-sized companies are leading in the integration of electric vehicles. According to research, the share of electric cars in fleets of 30-50 vehicles is expected to reach 32% by 2024. This growth presents serious challenges to office buildings, as they need to rapidly develop their charging infrastructure.

The role of electric cars and Voltie

The Voltie plays a defining role in shaping the future of electric cars. In addition to innovative charging solutions, it emphasizes showcasing new technologies and supporting sustainable development. Initiatives that bring electric cars closer to people's everyday lives will be crucial in the advancement of e-mobility.

As more and more people choose electric cars, the pace of technological development will also accelerate, and soon we will experience solutions that currently seem futuristic. The future of electric cars is thus exciting and holds many opportunities, making it worthwhile to prepare for it!
